The last District Induction 05 July at the Crowne Plaza was quick-paced and except for the common tardy VIPs and late-served meals, it was worth cutting-classes for me. IPP Ric came to send off Pres. Bombet and, with PPs Thess and Doc Rico and moi, RC Paraiso was witness to another 3780 milestone. Gov. Alex’ inaugural was a bit romantic but brief and to-the-point; children- and the youth-focused projects are the R I and the District’s interest and all these are familiar territory for RC Paraiso. Off to a good start, indeed!

Gov. Alex encourages all other Rotarians to attend district trainings for (genuine) Rotarization. Rotarization is indeed key to membership retention and club strength.
A farewell walk for the outgoing president and a victory walk for the new club head (complete with purple velvety cape and Disneyland crown - the Lion King’s?) makes RC KamEast’s induction a most unique event. IPP Julie Gubot (of Pacquiao fights fame) was succeeded by Pres. Reby Abrilla as the new KamEast barkada boss. KamEast is the WOFO club – “With Others, For Others”. By the looks of last night’s turnover at QCSC, it might as well be WOFOT - “With Others, For Others, Together” as Pres. Reby believes that there is no letter “I” in teamwork. And I agree. A club officer remains a club member and Rotary Clubs are the members of R I; all club officers must work WITH their clubs. And officers and members, Together, are the Team. And the Team works with its Partners and so on … Then the dream becomes real. Otherwise, it’s a big fairy tale so go buy yourself a Mickey’s ears cap.
